This week we talk with LudMasSon. Lud has been sending us quite a lot of good flicks recently and we thought it wise to showcase him to you.
Name and occupation?
Well my real name is Jasper. I run with the aliases of LudMasSon and SaDeVull. My occupation currently is a salesman selling digital cameras and video cameras. So if any of you want some hot gear, drop me a line. My real and true occupation is being an artist. But we all know that we need to make that cash in order to fulfill our true passions.

Where are you from? What's the scene like there?
I’m from Minneapolis, the land of the 10,000 idiots. I’m sorry, I meant to say lakes. Anyways our scene is weak as hell. I could drive though the city and see the same weak tags over and over. I’ll give them credit for having the balls to cover every single object in our city. But come on, do something better than leaving your little name and crew signature. So now that I have tore all the little Graff kids, I give mad props to HC and BTR and all the other crews that rocked our city with Graff. The tightest shit I’ve seen in our city has been Obey. He has definitely left his markings. As for stickers, stencils, and paste-ups there’s not too much here. You will come across an obscure sticker or paste-up here and there, but our city lacks these art forms. You can bet that I will do all I can to change that.

Your work is quite detailed and requires a second look. What reaction do you want to get from your viewers?
The one thing about art that make me smile is the reaction of your viewers. I love when people can’t look at something cause they're offended or it’s too much for them to handle. Then they blame me for having something wrong with my head. At this point, I laugh and tell them there’s something wrong with them for being like everyone else. The best reaction of putting up stickers is having someone scrape them away. For someone to go out of their way to deface my art means I made an impact.

Where do you find your influences?
Influences are everywhere for me. I take in as much as I can from everything I see. If I had to name my top three influences I would start with Matthew Barney. This guy is out of control. He is the creator of the Cremaster Series. It’s a set of five films that are unbelievable beautiful. The second biggest influence on me would be Salvador Dali. I grew up looking at many books of his work and he is a pure genius. Dali was way before his time in my mind. My third influence would be my high school art teacher - Mr. Spoden. We all have teachers that make an impact, but Mr. Spoden he was something else. He states that he saw talent in me and just let me do what I had to do to develop as an artist.

What do you get out of doing street art?
What I really enjoy about doing street art is seeing something I did a year ago and then seeing it again still posted. It just gives me a smile. One of the biggest benefits of street art is having all those people see your work. As long as I make one person laugh, smile or get pissed off, then I did my job.

Do you have any other projects, ideas in the pipeline?
I do know that I’m going to start posting work large. I see people like The London Police, Obey, and many others that post shit super huge. I know bigger isn’t always better, but in street art the bigger you go the more people will be forced to view it. I also plan on making another short film soon and going back to school to get my Master’s in Film or Art and Technology.

How do you make your stickers / art? What's your technique?
All my stickers that are black and white are all hand drawn originals. My color stickers are stenciled with plastic and then colored with spray paint. My sticker paper is Avery full sheets. The rest of my stickers have been done with a laser printer.

Got any tips?
Be yourself and the rest will fall into place.

And finally, what are you doing next week?
Exercising and drinking a lot of water for a drug test. After that’s done, I’m going to buy a stripper, some candy and tear the city up!

Cheers Jasper, have a great week!
